Release date: 18-Apr-2017
The UK is becoming a nation of entrepreneurs, as 54 per cent of Brits say they wish to become their own boss at some point during their career.1 Franchising offers a business model that allows you to be your own boss while having the support of an established business’ network. This summer, The British Franchise Exhibition returns to Manchester to showcase a wide range of franchise opportunities to inspire those looking to escape the constraints of office life.
On 16 & 17 June, EventCity will play host to a selection of brands that will appeal to aspiring franchisees excited by the idea of life on the road. Vehicle-based franchises looking to recruit dedicated new franchisees at the event include upholstery cleaning brands Zero Dry Time and Safeclean, estate agency board service Agency Express, and Local Appliance Rentals.
In 2012, Oldham-based Neil Chapman decided it was time for a change of career. He was immediately attracted to franchising due to the high level of support and increased likelihood of success the lucrative industry offers. After attending The British Franchise Exhibition in Manchester that year, he joined Agency Express as a franchisee.
Neil comments: “I had attended various franchise exhibitions and, after a bit of research, decided that this might be a road I could go down. When I spoke to Agency Express and met the team, I knew that this was the company I wanted to join. I made my mind up there and then to do just that.”
Agency Express, offers its franchisees the freedom and flexibility that comes hand-in-hand with running an established business. Less than a year from the inception of his franchise, Neil had built up a solid base of clients, achieved rapid growth and generated a sustainable level of income. “There have been many highlights, but I think signing up my first self-generated customer would be at the top. It gave me a great confidence boost to know that I could push the business on from there.”
In addition to vehicle-based franchises, there will be a plethora of exhibitors from a variety of sectors, including global brands such as McDonald’s and event sponsors, Anytime Fitness. Visitors can be assured that all exhibitors at the event are accredited by The British Franchise Association and operate ethical business practice. It is proudly the only event of its kind to be fully accredited by industry regulators.
The Growing Your Own Business Conference, incorporated within the exhibition, gives visitors the opportunity to learn from industry experts and build their knowledge of how to develop a successful business. A range of free advice clinics will also be available where visitors can book appointments with careers advisers, financial experts and franchise consultants to gain a well-rounded understanding of the industry.
The British Franchise Exhibition will take place at EventCity, Manchester on 16 & 17 June.
