About Us

Young entrepreneur Pete LaColla needed a way to finance his education. So three nights a week, for three years, he sold hot dogs, pretzels, and coffee on the street outside a nightclub in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Attorney Dan McCabe would sometimes stop for a hot dog at LaColla's cart and also found the young man attending courses he was teaching on real estate and starting a new business.

The two became friends and formed McColla Enterprises, Ltd., combining Pete's entrepreneurial vision and operational skills with Dan's extensive business and legal expertise. They created their first Street Corner store in 1988 in the West Ridge Mall in Topeka, Kansas, and went on to launch dozens of stores in malls serving diverse population centers from 20,000 to 6 million people. Today, they are looking for other ambitious operators to help spread their mini-convenience store network from coast to coast.

Training & Support
