OSCAR PET FOODS..... NEW ERA DESERVES AN OSCAR (& Full Member Status)

Oscar Pet Foods is proud to announce its British Franchise Association (bfa) Full Member Status.

The company, which started franchising in 1993, was taken over in 2002 by a new management team and has recently undergone a management buy out.

Oscar Pet Foods has been an active and respected member of the bfa for many years. Following a successful application and thorough accreditation process, the bfa has awarded Oscars with Full Membership of the Association.

The new management team combining new blood with Oscar Pet Foods experience has seen the 'Quality Pet Food with Free Home Delivery' franchisor go from strength to strength (up from 51 in 2002 to almost 90 in 2006).

The Oscar strategy has a solid focus on building for the future and the management team has been working hard to develop the business, pinpointing franchisee support and new systems as key priorities. They have also invested heavily in comprehensive new training programmes, on-line CRM database management tools, an intranet and achieving Investors in People status. New, advanced Super Premium cat food and van re-branding has also contributed to the company’s continuing success.

Says Richard Dancy, Sales and Marketing Director and new co-owner: “We have made real progress in the last three to four years and the business is in fantastic shape. The investment in the franchise system, products and our people is paying dividends and has set firm foundations for the future. Applying for Full bfa Membership has been a priority for us and a great achievement for the business.”

Director General of the bfa, Brian Smart adds: “Oscar Pet Foods has contributed greatly to the franchise industry and it is fantastic to see the company’s efforts and success recognised. As the self-regulating body for the franchise sector, a major part of our work is to identify the ethical franchise businesses operating in the UK and the accreditation of franchisors like Oscar Pet Foods is an integral part of this.
