A new business has started up covering the Bolton, Oldham and Stockport areas which offers to give your business a green makeover, designing and installing a tropical planting scheme to transform the look of your workplace and even improve the quality of the air around the building.

Lawrence and Susan Way recently started up Urban Planters Stockport, part of a UK-wide network of interior landscaping businesses, after working for many years in the pharmaceutical industry.

They have long wanted to run their own business, and were especially keen to apply their existing managerial skills to the promotion of the health and environmental benefits of plants. They finally took the leap at the beginning of the year and are now starting to spread the word about the benefits of plants to local businesses.

‘Tropical plants not only bring life to a work or leisure space on a visual level, they are also proven to clean the air of some of the harmful toxins emitted by modern equipment such as computers and, as we know, emit more oxygen into the air,’ said Sue. ‘What’s more, studies have found that plants can reduce the amount of illness and stress in a workforce, and have even been proven to make staff happy and more alert.

‘We are really passionate about the way something as simple as a plant can improve a working environment and are looking forward to putting it into practice.’

Urban Planters can design, install and maintain tropical plant schemes for any size of business. Their customers range from the headquarters of large multinationals to local bank branches and from health clubs to bars and restaurants.
