What is Wagging Tails?

I set up Wagging Tails, a home dog boarding company, in 2007. Having retired from my career as a ballet dancer I went down the road of “normal” jobs but soon realised that an office job wasn’t for me. I missed being around the dogs I’d grown up with and, having always looked after friends and family’s dogs, soon began looking for an opportunity to work with dogs. All of the companies that I came across had too many compromises (not seeing where your dog is staying or who is looking after him etc) that I as a dog lover wouldn’t be happy with. Wagging Tails was born out of my love for dogs and my desire to provide owners with a professional and reliable service that will give their dog a happy holiday home while they are away.

With so many dog owners across the UK now looking for an alternative to traditional kennels there is huge demand for home dog boarding. For dogs that are used to home comforts kennelling can be a very stressful experience and for owners it can cause a lot of worry at a time when they should be relaxing and enjoying their holiday.

Wagging Tails is an award winning company dedicated to providing the highest level of care for the dogs we have on holiday with us. We refuse to simply place lots of dogs with one carer at the same time, or provide a jack of all trades service (dog walking, sitting, boarding, day care, feeding the goldfish!!! etc) simply in the interest of making money. We believe that the dog’s and the owner’s needs should come first and our aim is to provide the dog with his very own holiday and give his owners peace of mind while they are away. We pride ourselves on the high standard of our carers and the exclusive service they provide. We only board one family’s dogs with each carer at any one time and we insist on a meeting between the carer, owner and their dogs in what we call a “sniffing out” meeting prior to the board. This ensures that everybody is happy to proceed with the holiday. None of our carers work so they are at home throughout the day, giving owners the peace of mind knowing that their best friend will get the same love, attention and exercise they would in their own home.  Truly a home from home service!
