Franchise Resales was established in April 2007 by the founding business partners Iain Martin and Derrick Simpson to address the growing demand for clarity and simplicity in the process of selling existing franchised businesses.

Franchisors are also able to plan their own eventual business sale or Master Licence resale using Franchise Resales Mergers and Acquisitions Service. This discrete service enables franchisors and master licence holders to confidentially source purchasers for their own businesses.

Many consultant firms, banks, solicitors and brokers can and do offer individual parts of the resales process but within the UK there is no one that offers the entire “end to end” service for franchisees or franchisors provided by Franchise Resales Ltd.

Derrick Simpson – Managing Partner

Derrick has played an active role within UK franchising since 1988. Initially with Alphagraphics he moved to Kall Kwik in 1990 and over the years supported franchisees in most of the key areas. These included field operations, technical support, business planning and local marketing before moving into the area for which he is best known that of reselling existing franchisees businesses

When On Demand Communications was formed, combining the two leading print brands Kall Kwik and Prontaprint, Derrick became the Director of Franchise Development and it is here he developed the processes that have evolved into the Franchise Resales system Recently he has spent time with the rapidly growing Myhome Group leaving in October 2006 to establish a consultancy business.

An active supporter of the BFA Derrick has been both Regional Chairman of London and the South East and also a member of the BFA Board. He is a regular speaker at BFA events on matters around franchise resales and is often consulted by existing members for advice on the subject.

Franchise Resales are not business brokers, in fact they work with some of the best know brokers in the UK to source prospects for resales having affiliate relationships with many. This means selling franchisees are not restricted by a single broker agreement. Their business listing reaches several brokers at once and there is no restriction on the source of the prospective purchaser.
