Let me start by getting my cards on the table and saying I think this is absolute hogwash and over the next few paragraphs I hope to explain why. The first thing to explore is the control which is afforded by other forms of business. When you are a standalone small business person you are able to exercise your most passionately held beliefs in the area of ball juggling control freakery. You and only you are involved in the business. I am prepared to concede that this gives a level of control matched only by the level of limitation resulting from only having one person’s time and contribution. After paying the costs and expenses of the liquidation, the liquidator will distribute the net proceeds realised from the company’s assets to creditors subject to a statutory order of priority. A franchisee would not usually be owed monies by a franchisor, although where a national account business is operated a franchisee may be due credits from the franchisor. However, unless monies have been kept in a separate designated deposit account in the franchisee’s name, it is unlikely that the liquidator can pay them over. The franchisee would be left to lodge a claim for the monies as an unsecured creditor. This year The Trussell Trust’s foodbank network will 60,000 people nationwide, compared to 41,000 last year. There are over 90 Trussell Trust foodbanks operating across the UK, but to meet the demand every town needs a foodbank. By raising £2,247, The Franchise Supplier Event is funding a Regional Foodbank Development Coordinator for one day a week for a period of 6 months, helping to open more foodbanks nationwide. But how can you increase the chances of converting these leads into franchisees?
Categorising Leads Early On While the exhibition is still fresh in your mind, it is important to categorise your leads. We have found it very beneficial to rate the leads on their level of interest at the show, along with any key questions they asked or particular areas they expressed an interest in. This information will be vital to the person following up.
Following up Leads Effectively It is often the case that prospective franchisees are very difficult to contact during the day by telephone. If someone is looking for a franchise, they will most probably still have a daily commitment to a current job that prevents them from answering their home or mobile phone. | Dug Aylen Director of Franchise Recruitment Services (FRS) Ltd | Playing The Waiting Game - (Handling Lead Enquiries) By Dugan Aylen, Director of Franchise Recruitment Services (FRS) Ltd Recruiting franchisees successfully starts with being able to offer a good business opportunity. The advertising and marketing campaign is also crucial as this is how a Franchise communicates and attracts potential prospects. Effective advertising generates the enquiries which make expansion through franchising possible. Doubling Up... If a franchise brand can generate 100 leads a month and these leads are handled correctly then up to 12 of these enquiries will attend at least an initial meeting. The conversion rate from here depends on 4 things: the accuracy of the information given from the start, the handling of the lead before a meeting, the meeting between franchisor and the potential candidate and then the after care of that person or persons.
