Why Oscar
We’re a family business that started life making good honest pet food for working dogs and supermarkets. It was a fantastic start with formulations for Sainsbury’s and Linda McCartney. However, we found that customers had little guidance on what to feed their pets. Choosing the right food was a minefield and the level of service seemed non-existent. Getting it right was so important because, just like humans, pets 'are what they eat'.
We have always believed that when it comes to nutrition it's too important to settle for second best. in 1993, we took matters into our own hands and the first OSCAR franchise was established. The Complete Pet Care Service was born and since then OSCAR has kept a firm focus on the developments in pet food manufacturing, while devoting time to its growing franchise network.

I knew very little about franchising and therefore searched the Internet and the British Franchise Exhibition at the NEC before making any decisions. With so many opportunities to look at I found myself drawn to the family-orientated situation at Oscar, and having two cats also provided a link. My wife helps me on a part-time basis and our aim is to be successful and happy. Searching the web site strengthened my desire to become self-employed and by learning from other people’s experiences confirmed that it was now time to be my own boss.
