One of the key proven ways for business to grow beyond its borders is via the master franchise route.   However, franchise businesses looking to expand overseas should be aware that professional advice should be sought.

There are a number of levels that need to be addressed in preparation before direct action is taken.  Best advice from in county professionals will help remove barriers to entry and expedite proven business models to deliver “public” goods and services profitably.

A new report describing franchising as an instrument of international development will be officially released December 8 in Washington, D.C. by Dalberg Global Development Advisors.  The study, funded by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, was conducted to explore successful franchise models in frontier markets and the factors critical to their success.

The report identifies that among the most promising, and neglected, enterprise models in frontier markets is franchising.  In the developed world, it has been suggested that franchise business models are designed for exponential growth and offer lower failure rates, lower capital requirements for growth and structured business models that leverage entrepreneurial talent and consistency of product/service quality.

The International Franchising Centre helps franchise business develop in new markets and hold specialist expo events to prepare businesses for that purpose.   Meet our specialist consultants at the ExCel International Franchise Exhibition in London  and at the International Franchise Association Convention in San Antonio.
