Encouraging Women into Franchising events (EWIF)
On Tuesday 22 September the national launch of the ‘Encouraging Women into Franchising’ group (EWIF) took place at Wotton House Hotel, Dorking.
The women in franchising group is made up of franchisors, franchisees, franchise service providers banks, women support groups and national agencies. The mandate of EWIF is to inspire, educate, encourage and support women looking to become franchisees, women business owners looking to franchise their business and existing franchisors where women are under represented in their network.
The event started with an introduction from Clive Sawyer, Chairman of EWIF to explain the background and purpose of the group. This was followed by presentations from Diana Serle, founder of Silverdaze and Tina Kemp of WPA, outlining their experiences as a franchisor and franchisee, respectively. Joanne Rogers from Prowse & Company Ltd closed the event.
More than seventy people involved in bring women into franchising attended the launch, including members of my team Lorna Smith, Senior Franchise Manager and Claire Field, Franchise Manager who is one of the founding members. The enthusiasm generated by the event was clear and it also provided a fantastic opportunity for networking.
Sponsors of the EWIF event included www.SelectYourFranchise.com. Select Your Franchise’s Business Development Manager Steve Jones attended in person to support and advise delegates.
